The Roma sporting director, Stefano Pessina, has announced the club will unveil a new white-and-red scheme ahead, with the unveiling of the home and away kit for the next season to be held in April.
The new colour scheme, with a new ‘A’ in front of the number 11 on the back, is a nod to the team’s history of winning Serie A titles in a new colour, with all colours being worn in white and blue, the first time the club has won two titles in consecutive seasons.
The white home shirt, featuring a new design, will feature the club’s crest on the front.
Pessina said the new design would “show that we are a real club” with a “real spirit”, adding: “We want to show our true colours.”
The Roma home shirt will be the clubs first away shirt in a long time, with its design to be worn for all home games.
The club, which has won the last four domestic cups, have not won the Serie A title since 1998, but Pessine said they will “keep winning”.
“We want all the players to be happy with the way we are playing and that we have a real spirit,” he added.
“This is a club of great values, and we have been working on our new kit and colours for a long period of time.”
A new jersey is also expected to be unveiled at the start of the season.
“We will have a new jersey that we will wear at home,” he said.
“We will introduce the new jersey as soon as the season starts.”
I’m very happy with this new kit, and the players will be proud of it.
“The new jersey will be worn by all the team members, who will wear it as a badge of honour.”
